The blush pink and ivory ground is adorned with hand-painted lily of the valley and floral sprays in white, green, and coral, framed by elaborate raised gold enamel beading and scrollwork that catches the light beautifully.

The Hair Receiver has a wide round opening rimmed in gold, with a cushion-shaped body decorated on all four sides. The matching slender tapered bud vase rises from a square base with the same floral and gold enamel treatment at top and bottom. The style and quality are strongly consistent with Nippon porcelain (Japanese export porcelain, pre-1921) or fine Austrian Art Nouveau ware of the same era.
