Antique Art Nouveau Silver-Plated Vanity Hair Brush with Open Flower Center and Rope Border
Graceful, organic, and quintessentially Art Nouveau — this antique silver-plated vanity hair brush is a beautifully distinctive piece with a design unlike any of the other brushes in our collection. The large oval back features a plain polished silver field framed by a twisted rope border, with a stunning open-work flower at the base of the handle junction — its petals fully three-dimensional and casting lovely shadows across the brushback.
The long elegant handle is decorated with sinuous intertwined stems and leaves in the flowing organic style that defines the best Art Nouveau metalwork, terminating in a graceful scroll tip with a dark tortoiseshell-tone inset. The reverse reveals the original natural boar bristles set within the silver frame — still intact and in good antique condition.
