Antique Mary Gregory Victorian Crystal Perfume Bottle with Wheel-Engraved Figural Scenes, Silver Collar and Faceted Ball Stopper
Exquisite, rare, and deeply personal — this antique Mary Gregory Victorian crystal perfume bottle is a masterpiece of the engraver's art. The heavy square crystal body is decorated on each face with delicate wheel-engraved scenes: one side features a graceful figure of a woman in period dress — rendered in fine frosted engraving with wonderful detail in her skirt, bodice, and posture — while the reverse carries a complementary floral spray of engraved blossoms and leaves. The remaining faces show additional engraved botanical motifs, making every angle of this bottle a discovery.
The bottle is fitted with a silver collar at the neck — a hallmark of quality Victorian and Edwardian perfume bottles — topped with a spectacular large multi-faceted ball stopper with a flat disc collar, its many flat-cut facets sparkling brilliantly. The glass has the exceptional weight and clarity of fine antique lead crystal.
