A rare and remarkable piece of American industrial history — this antique wooden shipping crate from the Turner Brass Works of Sycamore, Illinois is a genuine early 20th century advertising artifact in extraordinary condition. Both sides of the dovetail-jointed pine crate retain their original stenciled black lettering, bold and legible after more than a century.

One side boldly proclaims: "Turner Double Jet Torches. Hottest in the World. The Double Jet Burner Doubles the Heat, Doubles the Power, Saves Time and Fuel." The opposite side identifies the contents as "One Turner No. 96 Trade Mark Double Jet Gasoline Torch, Manufactured only by The Turner Brass Works, Sycamore, Ill., U.S.A." — complete with an illustration of the torch itself.
